Another pleasant afternoon was spent at Fairway Hall for the Dementia Club UK. We were pleased to welcome 3 new members. A chance to chat over a cuppa with Sasha’s wonderful cakes, challenge the brain with a quiz and exercise with Sara to gentle music. We also had a new volunteer, Paul Tucker who was very friendly and chatted to all the members and participated with all the games.
Today we were joined by James Lebec who sang songs from Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and by special request, Bing Crosby.
We all enjoyed a fun quiz, Name that Tune, much cheating occurred to the great amusement of all. The figures reached on the roll of the dice were massaged, all for fun! Everyone went home smiling.
Thanks to Lisa for arranging organising the music played by James Lebec and to Sasha for the amazing cakes. (Written by Pat Strack – Session Leader)

Borehamwood Brass Band conducted by musical director Derek Holland provided a musical treat at All Saints Church tonight with a full selection of well-known musical numbers. The music played was a mix of movie themes and other favourites.
We also had a performance from Barnet's Christchurch Community Choir which was led by Jill Wood.

The longest day and the hottest day since 1976 Members were nicely surprised that Lisa had brought ice creams again.
We celebrated Mariana's 83rd birthday in the usual way and then we had a speaker - Mr David Steene, a solicitor who specialises in dementia law and his firm is based in Borehamwood. Members were interested to hear some new information about a pension guarantee that entitles you to get 100% free council tax.
The session then followed with Tai Chi with Egon and as the weather was so hot all the members went outside. I finished the session reading some jokes which everyone enjoyed.
