A beautiful day again at Finchley Memorial Hospital and members were delighted to be at the session. Lisa gave some quizzes on each table and also gave them the challenge for today which was to fine A to Z colours. Richard Kravetz then arrived and gave a great Yoga session.

This was then followed with Ian James with music entertainment and today Ian first played some Country and Western music followed with some Rock and Roll and 50s,60s,70s, music, Italian and Scottish music. There was something for everyone to enjoy and some dancing too. Lisa then finished the session with the A to Z challenge results. Everyone was in such a buzz and left with a smile.

Ground-breaking EEG test could diagnose Alzheimer’s disease five years earlier

EEG stands for Electroencephalogram which measure recognition memory. One of the members mentioned how his wife had taken part on this study last week at Queens Square Hospital.

Members joined for their chat session to start. There was no exercise session today as Eon was on holiday so Lisa arranged for an extended music entertainment session with James Le Bec which everyone really enjoyed. The music ‘Countdown’ challenge is also a great favourite as members like the challenge. Lisa then called out the Bingo numbers with her lovely assistant Chrystalla and the winners today and for BINGO GAME 13 are Booba Beryl and Hazel.

This was our first session today at FIN East Barnet. John the Director of FIN helped with Mark to set up the tables and Lisa and volunteers from Fin Hannah and Claudine helped with the teas and coffees and biscuits on each table. Lisa welcomed everyone including members from FIN.

Lisa had a few quizzes on the tables for everyone to start with and then announced to start a Bingo game. Everyone was very keen to play Bingo. Lisa then did some exercises with everyone today as Eon was on holiday. Ian James the music entertainer then arrived and sang a variety of songs which got everyone singing and a few members up dancing. As the venue has a large space there was plenty of room for dancing.

This was a successful first session and Dementia Club UK are very pleased to be partners with FIN. It was a pleasure to see John Wilks at this first session today especially as he is leaving in a few days and going to South Africa. Lisa and Mark wished him all the best for the future.
